Through the years.
Searching for
Acceptance,
Respectability,
Camaraderie.
A cap
Of blue
And red
Warms the heart,
Stirs the soul.
Eclipsed
By stark
Black and white.

The baseball diamond.
American turf.
The curse
Is out there.
A goat
And a Chicago bar.
Urban legend?
Reality?
No matter.
Loyalty
Runs deep.
The championship
So elusive.
